Everyone in Ephesus--including the apostle Paul--had seen soldiers in Roman military attire. It's not surprising, therefore, that the letter to the Ephesians employs the images of a Roman soldier to illustrate spiritual truths. We are less familiar with such battle gear and its purpose today, however. This week's article examines Paul's imagery of a Roman soldier's battle dress to illustrate how Christians ought to prepare for spiritual battle.
